This writing project provides middle school students all across America with an opportunity to examine the impact of violence on their lives and communicate in writing what they can personally do to stop violence. In Palm Beach County, this program is only offered in district-operated middle schools. Participating students are eligible to receive local and national recognition.
Three students will be selected as Ambassador’s from Palm Beach County, and if possible given the global pandemic, the students will travel to Washington, D.C. in the summer of 2021 with a parent/guardian, their principal, and a teacher.
All flights and lodging expenses will be paid by the Program. In addition, if school and health guidelines allow, the program will host a Recognition Luncheon at the South Florida Fairgrounds to honor the “Top 10” best entries of each participating Middle School as determined by the Principal. The event is free. The dates of these events have not yet been determined.
